This meal is quick, with only about 15 minutes prep time and serves 2. It’s full of protein and of good calories, which will help sustain you throughout your day of being a busy, productive college student. Make the dressing: combine 1 ½ teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil, 1 ½ teaspoon of red wine vinegar, and a dash of salt. In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup of already cooked quinoa, 1 cup of halved grape tomatoes, ½ cup canned unsalted black beans, 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro, and 1/8 teaspoon salt. In a pan, crack 2 eggs and cook for 2-3 minutes. Be sure to coat the pan with extra virgin olive oil to make sure the egg doesn’t stick to it! Top the quinoa mixture with the dressing, the eggs, and a sliced avocado. See the full recipe here. Personal Pizza If you have a little more time and need something heartier (like for lunch or dinner rather than for breakfast), try making a personal pizza! It takes 25 minutes to make, including the 15 minutes of baking time. Pizza is a great option that’ll satisfy your craving and is allowed by your vegetarian diet, since it is vegetable based. This recipe makes six slices. Preheat the oven to 500 °F with a rectangular pizza stone inside it. (If you don’t have a pizza stone, a heavy baking sheet will work). Microwave 1 pound of refrigerated fresh pizza dough in a microwave-safe bowl for 30 seconds. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap before putting it in the microwave. Lightly flour a surface and roll out the dough there into a 1512 inch rectangle. On a piece of parchment paper, sprinkle 1 tablespoon of plain yellow cornmeal. Let it stand for 5 minutes before baking. The cornmeal keeps the dough from sticking to the pan, and it also makes the crust extra crispy! Place the parchment paper and dough on a flat baking sheet. Bake at 500 °F for 3 minutes. Once it’s done, spread marinara sauce on the crust and top with 1 thinly sliced tomato, corn, 3 ½ ounces (about 1 cup) of fresh mozzarella cheese, and garlic. Slide it onto the hot pizza stone and leave it baking for 12 minutes (or until the edges are crispy). Garnish with salt, pepper, basil, red pepper, extra virgin olive oil, and balsamic glaze. Black bean burgers are yummy, easy to make, and vegetarian-friendly. This recipe will take you 20 minutes, and it serves 4 people. You’ll need to whip out your food processor if you decide to make this meal, but it’s so worth it. Place 1 slice of toasted and torn up whole grain bread into a food processor (pulse 5 times). Then, transfer it to a bowl. Combine the following ingredients and place them into a food processor: ¼ cup grated onion, 1 tablespoon chopped garlic, 1 ½ teaspoons fresh lime juice, ¾ teaspoon ground cumin, ¾ tablespoon ground cumin, ¾ teaspoon kosher salt, and ½ teaspoon grated lime rind. Pulse the food processor 4-5 times. Add a whole 15 ounce can of unsalted black beans, 1/3 cup chopped walnuts, ½ teaspoon hot sauce, 1 lightly beaten egg, and the toast to the mixture. Stir the mixture well. Divide it into 4 equal parts and shape each of them into a patty. Lightly grease a skillet and cook the patties on it for 4 minutes on each side, or until they are brown. The market itself is worth £78.7 billion!The history of pizza goes back to the late antiquity. The first signs of pizza date back to 997. Etymologically, the word has two possible origins. It may come from the German word “bizzo”, which referred to a “piece of bread” or the Greek word “pitta”, also bread-related.The first pizza started as a piece of bread with different ingredients on it. It would go through several iterations before becoming the pizza as we know it today.It started looking like a modern pizza around the Middle Ages when trade was booming. It’s also during this time that the Bretons started making galettes, the famous buckwheat pancake that would lead to the creation of cre pes.In Italy, the tomato and buffalo milk, which was used to make mozzarella, was incredibly influential on the development of the pizza. Some prefer a thin base, others a deep pan. So here are two recipes for the dough you prefer. You must get the dough right if you want to make a good pizza. (Source: Skitterphoto)Dough for a Thin CrustFirstly, you’ll need the following ingredients:500g of flour1 sachet of baker’s yeast1 teaspoon of salt250ml of warm water1 teaspoon of sugarPour the flour into a mixing bowl and then make a well.  Place the salt, sugar, and baker’s yeast in a measuring cup. Pour the 250ml of warm water into a cup as you mix it with a fork.Cover this with cling film and let sit for around 10 minutes. At the end of the 10 minutes, it should be brown with foam on top.  Pour this mix into the mixing bowl and start mixing by hand.Once the water’s been absorbed into the mix, knead the dough on a flat surface with flour on it so that it doesn’t stick. Knead for a few minutes and then add some olive oil. Keep kneading for a few more minutes.You’ll then need to let the dough sit for around an hour. Cover it with a tea towel and put it near a heat source (pan, chimney, radiator, etc.).Afterwa rds, you’ll need to knead the dough for a few more minutes. Take as much as you’ll need since you can always freeze any extra dough.Now you need to spread the dough over an oiled dish.You can then cook it in the oven for 10 minutes at 250 °C.Dough for a Thick CrustFor a thicker dough, you’ll need:350g of flour (plus 100g for your bench).2 teaspoons of salt1 sachet of baker’s yeast3 tablespoons of olive oil250ml of warm waterThis recipe is a lot like the first. However, start by pouring the flour into a large mixing bowl and immediately adding the salt, baker’s yeast, and olive oil.  Then pour in the water as you delicately mix the dough. Keep mixing into the water stops sticking.Like with the other dough, let this dough sit for around an hour covered by a damp tea towel.Cover your bench with flour and spread out your dough before putting it in the oven on a tray.
